“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “You are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:41-42 NIV

ost of the Christians know this story and heard many sermons about Martha and Mary. A lot of them were praising Mary and putting Martha down. Martha was serving and wasn’t happy that she was doing it alone and was asking Jesus if Mary would be able to help her, while Mary was sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening to Him speak.
This time when the Lord reminded me of this story, I clearly felt God speak to me, “I loved them both”.
– Yes, Lord, but what do you want to show me through this story now?
– Do you think I wouldn’t be able to get up and help Martha do sandwiches?
I was astounded by the love and the grace of the Master. He actually would help her out. The Lord continued…
– You see, first, I want the heart, then the action.
“First, the heart, then the action…”

ight away, I saw a picture of many ministers who are trying so hard to make sure everything is good and perfect, wearing themselves out, not realizing that number one thing is – “the heart”.
“Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few thing are needed – or indeed only one…”
Sometimes I find myself in the place of Martha, forgetting the one thing – trusting Him and giving Him space in every business in my life. When He starts doing “things” with us, everything changes, and we can see His goodness and His grace on everything our hands touch…
Let us remember ONE THING that leads us to Jesus, constant connection to HIS HEART.
one thing…
