SERMON NO. 25

  • Revelation 12:13 to 17.
  • Revelation 13:1 to 14.

When you have a real honest-to-goodness Orthodox Jew, a strict Orthodox Jew, you have someone who has a love for God as no other person in the world. It is something I can’t explain. It is different. I know we, as Gentiles, love Him. You and I love Him as a Heavenly Father. Now, I could never describe my attitude toward God. I do not think of Him in the same light probably as an Orthodox Jew thinks of Him. I think of Him as my Heavenly Father, someone who has adopted me. There is something that is very warm; something that is so close; such comfort. I don’t know how better to express it. But you get Orthodox Jew, there is a reverence and a feeling of absolute, complete holiness in God Almighty, Jehovah God; there is a sacredness. Not that He isn’t that to all of us, too, but in a different way. They are born somehow with a deep reverence for Jehovah God. I hope I have made myself clear. But remember, Jesus Christ to them is still an impostor. I am talking about a real honest-to-goodness Orthodox Jew.

The Jews are taught the Scripture. That is the truth. Do you realize that they won’t need the Holy Spirit? Why? I told you over and over again that Paul said – and God promised, that ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED. I am amazed at Gentiles. How little they know regarding the Bible. Put it to the test. You start talking to the average Gentile from the Old Testament and they wont know whether you are quoting from Time Magazine, Look, …. But I challenge you, you take any Scripture, anything that is in the Old Testament, and if that person is a good Orthodox Jew, they know what you are talking about because they know the Scripture.

In Hebrews, the 8th chapter, verses 10 and 11, we read:

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for ALL shall know me, from the least to the greatest.”

Hebrew 8:10-11

Remember, I have been giving you the 11th chapter of Romans, verse 26, where Paul said, ALL ISRAEL SHALL BE SAVED. Now in the 8th chapter of Hebrews, verse 10, we have: “I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” That is exactly what God has been doing. They know the law. The law is in their mind, and they live according to the Ten Commandments, the laws of God.

“… for all shall know me, …” They have already been taught. They already know the Word. They know that One is coming. They are looking for the Messiah that the prophets sang about and of Whom they were taught. They know the Old Testament better than any Gentile knows it. They have got the law down pat. All they need to do is to again have the blindness lifted from them and have God to say: This is He, the Messiah, My only Begotten Son, and they will accept Him – lock, stock and barrel. Watch it.

Hebrews 8:12: “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” That is coming in the very near future.

Now, I want to begin reading from the 13th verse of the 12th chapter of the Book of the Revelation: “And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.”

In other words, when the Devil saw that Israel, as a WHOLE, accepted Jesus as their True Messiah – that is future, but it could be very near future – when the Devil saw that literally thousands and thousands and thousands of Jews, having their blinded eyes opened, accepted the Son of the Living God, “he persecuted Israel which brought forth the man child.” The woman that is spoken of is Israel.

Verse 14:

“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.”

Revelation 12:14

In other words, for three and a half years she is going to have to flee for her life. Satan will become so enraged. You talk about suffering! The Jews have suffered in years past. I sat there and relived that whole Eichmann trial when the truth came out. That was something! What the Jews have gone through. But the suffering of the past is nothing to what their suffering is going to be in the future when literally all hell will be arrayed against them. They will accept the True Messiah, they will accept Jesus Christ as the very Son of the Living God, but the price that they will have to pay for doing so will be the greatest suffering that any human being has ever known. That is the reason, and it is for their sake, the elect – they are the elect – because the persecution from the Devil will be so intense that for their sake, for the sake of these thousands and thousands of Jews, the Scripture plainly says that they will have to flee to the wilderness. They will have to flee for their lives.

All the powers of hell will be arrayed against them. Satanic power will attack them from every angle. And yet, when once their eyes are opened, they will not turn. They will be as steady as the Rock of Gibraltar. Not one will turn. After they get the light, after spiritual blindness has been lifted from their eyes, as a whole – not a part – they will refuse to take the mark of the beast. Satan will be so angry; he will be so enraged. But, oh, the suffering! the suffering! I’ll show you in just a few minutes. The suffering will be so intense, because he will set out to cause them all kinds of suffering. Because remember, that is during that time when no man will be able to buy or sell and this all takes place during the last three and a half years of the great tribulation.

Verse 15,

“And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.”

Revelation 12:15

Verse 16:

“And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.”

Revelation 12:16

Now, I do not know whether this actually, literally will be a flood. I cannot tell you. I only give you the Word. “And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.” I do not believe that this is actually a flood of water. The only thing that makes me believe that it might be a flood of water is because going back t0 Luke, the 23rd chapter, verses 28 to 31, we have that Scripture – and it was at the time of the crucifixion – the words that Jesus said away back there. It was after Pilate had sentenced Him. “But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.”

“Daughters of Jerusalem, …” Jesus, in this, was not talking to the Gentiles. He made it very clear to whom he was speaking.

Luke 23:28 to 31:

“But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children.
“For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck.
“Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
“For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?”

Luke 23:28-31

Turn again to Matthew, the 24th chapter. He is talking about the same thing: this great suffering that is going to come upon them. Mark this 24th chapter of Matthew along with the 12th and the 13th chapters of the Book of the Revelation. Jesus Himself, in the 24th chapter of Matthew, is speaking. He is talking about exactly the very same thing that was given to John in this vision. The wording is almost identical in places.

Matthew 24:3:

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?”

Matthew 23:3

There is never going to be an end of the world. We are coming to the end of the Church-age, which will be at the time of the Rapture. At the same time, we come to the time of the end of the Gentiles. When we come to the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, we have come to the end of the time of the Jewish dispensation. God will have fully kept every covenant, every promise He ever made to Israel, when He comes back to earth to rule and reign. He will be 7 years in sending judgment and in keeping His every covenant and every promise to Israel.

Therefore, when the disciples said, “And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” He didn’t take issue with them. ‘You poor children, there will never be the end of the world.’

Now we begin this part as relates to the 13th chapter of the Book of the Revelation. Matthew 24:4:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.”

Matthew 24:4

It will be earmarked by DECEPTION.

Verse 6:

“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Matthew 24:6

He is saying to His children: No matter what Castro does, no matter what Khrushchev does, no matter how many bombs, how many fighter bombers, don’t get scared! Don’t panic! Don’t be alarmed!

” … but the end is not yet.” This does not mean that the end is not yet when it comes to the end of the dispensation. He knew what they (the disciples) meant when they said: “and when shall be the end of the world?” They were talking about – ‘When shall we come to the time when You keep all the earthly covenants with Israel? When do we come to the time when You come back to earth and set up Your kingdom.’ They were going beyond the Church-age.

Matthew 24:7 and 8:

“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
“All these are the beginning of sorrows.”

Matthew 24:7-8

When you see all of these things happening, these are the beginning of sorrows; the beginning of the great tribulation.

Then He goes on and He is again speaking to the Jews. Verse 9:

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.”

Matthew 24:9

All of this has happened prior to the great tribulation. And what have they been doing with the Jews during the past generations? Too often we have misinterpreted this to mean Gentiles as Christians. You and I are not to be hated by all nations for His name’s sake. I do not think that Christians are to be hated. I believe that if you are a real born again Christian, the worst infidel in the world will respect you. He is not talking about hatred for Christians. He is talking here about the Jews, about Israel, and this is as true a picture that has ever been given as to that which has been happening in our own generation. I do not know of a people more hated for generations than the Jews. For no reason at all. Why were they persecuted? For no reason at all. Not for anything that they have done. Not because they are a menace. Far from it. And yet, look how they have been persecuted! Look what Mussolini did to them! Look what Hitler did to them! For no reason at all. “… and shall kill you.” Not by the hundreds, but by the thousands and tens of thousands upon thousands. “. . . and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” As I told you before, the only place where they are actually safe and at home is here in the United States.

Verses 11 to 14:

“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Matthew 24:11-14

“… and then shall the end come.” Not the end of the times of the Gentiles, not the end of the Church-age, but the end of the Jewish dispensation.

Now He goes on to say in Matthew 24:15 and 16, and includes that same persecution as I have left you with in the 12th chapter of Revelation.

Verse 15: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth let him understand:)

Verse 16:

“Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.”

Matthew 24:16

What is He talking about? This very same thing that is spoken of in the 12th chapter of the Revelation where it says “that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place.” She shall flee – in Hebrew – to the mountains. Continue on in Matthew 24:

Verse 17:

“Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

Matthew 24:17

Verse 18:

“Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Matthew 24:18

Something has happened. He is talking about the same thing as in Revelation 12:15 and 16:

“And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.”

Revelation 12:15-16

That’s Satan.

Matthew 24:19:

“And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!”

Matthew 24:19

Verse 20:

“But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

Matthew 24:20

Verse 21:

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

Matthew 24:21

Verse 22:

“And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.”

Matthew 24:22

I know that there will be some kind of a great world calamity. It will be caused by Satan. I cannot believe that it will be a flood. I’ll tell you why. Remember, it will be during the last three and a half years of the great tribulation when the two witnesses will be witnessing: Elijah and Moses. And remember, it will be given to one of them to shut up the heavens for three and a half years, and for three and a half years of the great tribulation literally NOT A DROP OF WATER WILL FALL. There will be a drought such as this planet has never known. Not one drop of water, not one ounce of moisture, will fall upon this earth for three and a half years. There will be no grass whatsoever. The cattle, the sheep, the livestock will have no water because of the fallout, because of the aftermath of the use of the atomic bomb. All waters will be contaminated. Even the water of the great Mediterranean will be contaminated to the extent, the Bible says, where even the fish will die; all living creatures in the sea. All waters, including the Mediterranean.

You talk about fallout! That is the reason it is such an issue now, and only God knows how great an issue it will be when it happens. Don’t let anybody tell you that there isn’t destructive power in fallout. The Bible teaches the aftermath from the use of the atomic bomb will be so destructive that even the fishes in the water will be killed.

Whether after this drought for three and a half years, there will be a destructive flood for a very short time, I do not know. I do not believe that these are just symbols. But anyway, we know there will be great destruction, great persecution, and it will come not from God; it will come from the Devil. “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” (Matthew 24:21.) He is talking about the same thing as spoken of in Revelation 12:16 and 17: “And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth. And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”

Now we enter into this 13th chapter, and I want you to see something: the two beasts. John tells us of two beasts.

Revelation 13:1 and 2:

“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

Revelation 13:1-2

May I say something here, because so very often we do not have a clear understanding regarding these two beasts. One of the beasts we see is “like a lion, like a bear, like a leopard.” I believe these descriptive words only denote fierceness, strength and swiftness. Talk about a leopard! There is swiftness. I do not believe it means anything more than that. “… and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion.” He was like unto a leopard. These descriptive words only mean fierceness, swiftness and strength. I believe that the “seven heads and ten horns” seem to “describe its several powers.” The “ten crowns upon its horns” describes “its tributary princes.” I know there are those who like to make it very mystical, and to see deeper into it. Now, I want you to see something else.

Verse 2:

“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

Revelation 13:2

We already know who the dragon is.The dragon is Satan. He is called Satan in the preceding chapter. Therefore, I am wondering whether or not Satan does not enter literally into the body of the one who will be Antichrist until this time. Do you want to know why I have to believe that? Because it says: “and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.” Gave him. Who? This beast that he saw. “… gave him his power, and his seat – as ruler over this planet, and great authority.” Watch that very closely. I do not know that anyone else puts it like this, but this beast that comes from out of the sea is Antichrist. There are two beasts: the first one is Antichrist, the great world ruler; the second one is the false prophet. You must get this straight now, because in our next series of messages we go into the mark of the beast.

From this Scripture – I think sometimes we have always taken for granted that immediately after the Rapture of the Church, that as quickly as the Church is raptured that Satan at that time enters into the body of the man who will be the great world ruler, the Antichrist. But from this Scripture it appears to me – I do not mean to be dogmatic about this but only consider – it seems as though Satan does not literally – and remember tonight, Satan is a disembodied spirit – he does not literally enter into the body of a man and completely control that man until he finds out that Israel as a whole, as a nation, has accepted the Son of the Living God as the True Messiah. For it was after John saw, in vision, Israel accepting the man-child which, of course, is Christ, that he got this vision: “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.” Watch where it comes from. The sea. This represents Antichrist after his incarnation by the dragon.

Verse 2:

“And the beast which I saw (the same one) was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”

Revelation 13:2

Now here comes another one. Verses 3 and 4:

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”

Revelation 13:3-4

Who is it? Satan. But satan, the dragon, had entered into the beast that John saw coming out of the sea. Therefore, we see the incarnation of Satan.

Verse 5:

“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto to continue forty and two months.”

Revelation 13:5

Three and a half years.

Verse 6:

“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”

Revelation 13:6

Verse 7:

“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them:
and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

revelation 13:7

Verse 8:

“And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”

Revelation 13:8

Verse 9:

“If any man have an ear, let him hear.”

Revelation 13:9

Verse 10:

“He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.”

Revelation 13:10

I want you to see that second beast. Next Tuesday I will come back to this. Verse 11:

“And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”

Revelation 13:11

The second beast comes from out of the earth, and the second beast is the false prophet.

I told you last Tuesday that for whatever there is a genuine in the things of the Lord, there is also a counterfeit. The Devil is so angry at the Jews for having accepted the True Messiah that cunningly he tries to deceive them by bringing a false prophet. That is the reason that Jesus, over here in Matthew the 24th chapter, said to be careful, for the day literally will come when one will say ‘I am Christ; I am the True Messiah.’ Be careful! Who will that one be? The false prophet. The Devil will be so cunning that literally he will try to deceive the Jews by his cunningness and cleverness and make them believe that they have made a mistake again in accepting the man-child – ‘for behold, here is your Messiah. Here he is.’

Isn’t it amazing! “… two horns like a lamb.” Mimicking whom? The Lamb of God. There will be no fierceness there at all. He will be meek; he will be gentle. Oh, but inside, “he spake as a dragon.” Ah! “thy speech betrayeth thee.” Mimicking Jesus. He is trying to deceive the Jews.

That does he do? Now, this is most interesting. You talk about the counterfeit! Over here in the 17th chapter there appears a “scarlet woman.” He is mimicking – in this scarlet woman – the True Church. In everything, all during the tribulation, the Devil mimics everything for which there is a genuine. In the 17th chapter of the Book of the Revelation, verse 4, John saw the woman: “And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.” He is mimicking the True Church. And bless you! the Church was caught up long ago. The Church is at the great Wedding Supper of the Lamb. Yet, during the tribulation, the Devil literally has a counterfeit for the Church. Here the Devil literally brings out a counterfeit Christ. He goes so far – watch.

Revelation 13:13:

“And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.”

Revelation 13:13

“He doeth great wonders, …” Who? This beast who came up out of the earth.” “… so that he maketh fire come down from heaven …” Who was he mimicking? Moses. This was right while Moses and Elijah were preaching their heads off. While the two witnesses are witnessing to the world, back here in person, preaching the Word, and the Jews having accepted the Christ, that old Devil – he is a bad one – what does he do? He brings a counterfeit. One that does great wonders.

I have told you over and over again, be not deceived when it comes to the power of Satan. The Devil has great power. Do you want to know what the power of the Devil is really like? His power is so great that the time is coming when he makes fire to come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. “He doeth great wonders.” So much so that he will come before the Jews and say – You made a mistake when you accepted the man-child as the Messiah. I am he. Look upon me. I am the True Messiah. He tries to turn them from the way of the righteous. He tries to deceive them. ‘Behold, only the True Messiah could make fire to come down from heaven. Only the True Messiah could perform these miracles.’

Verse 14: “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”

But do you want to know something? Again I repeat, he did miracles, he did great wonders, but try as you will, you cannot prove that he ever brought anyone back to life or that he ever healed the sick. Because if he did, he would work contrary to his own kingdom, for sin and sickness come hand in hand. He will do great miracles but he has never been given the power to heal.

I have given you a foundation prior to the taking of the mark of the beast. We need to warn every single unsaved person living today regarding the taking of the mark of the beast. If they are not converted before the Great Catching Un and are left to go through the tribulation, at least they will have heard the warning. There will be thousands and thousands who will have enough of the Word and will not take the mark of the beast, for any person who takes the mark of the beast, either in the palm of their right hand or in their forehead, will be DOOMED AND DAMNED forever and forever.

The amazing thing is the Jews having received the light, hold to it. Therefore, I say to you that those who will take the mark of the beast will be Gentiles. AFTER THAT MARK IS ONCE THERE THAT ONE IS DOOMED AND DAMNED FOREVER AND EVER, FOR THEY HAVE TAKEN SATAN’S MARK.

Thank God for your inheritance in Christ Jesus. Thank God for the faithfulness of the Holy Ghost. Thank Cod for the light that the Holy Ghost has given us.

PRAISE THE LORD !!!
